Agorables Art Bounty
An Agorable is an adorable virtual chimaera monster based on the concept of a
[paper doll](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paper_doll), except with more anatomical variation and fewer accessories.
The intended emerging aesthetic is cute, weird, and funny.
The objective for the bounty pursuant be would be to create art assets
for individual features of the Agorable paper doll that would be then be used to create
interesting combinations of features through animal husbandry and
[recombinant](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recombinant_DNA) expression of physical features.
## Acceptance Criteria
An Agorable composition consists of layers in a full order to be defined by
the artist, such that any combined individual has a visually coherent body.
An Agorable composition consists of a number of features to be determined by
the artist, but at least THREE, for example: heads, arms, legs, ears, and
The artist may choose to combine arms and legs as a single feature that will
always be coherent for any individual Agorable.
Each feature must have at least ONE expression, for example: bunny legs,
chicken legs, fins, or no legs at all.
A feature might be included for the sole purpose of conditionally adding a
single expression, like an accessory.
For example, snorkel and goggles.
A feature may consist of multiple layers for the purpose of ensuring, for
example, that some limbs emerge from under the body while others of the same
feature are above.
All combinations of every feature must produce a coherent Agorable.
For example, one body feature and one leg feature must not result in a freely
floating leg, unless the artist and reviewer agree that the combination is
awesome or hilarious.
Some layers must be parameterized by at least TWO solid colors.
The artist must recommend a base palette that consists of at least THREE bland
shades like tan, white, and grey; and at least THREE vivid shades.
All bland shades must produce thematically coherent Agorable combinations but
vivid colors may clash.
The artist must depend on translucent transformation like a gradient for
any non-solid coloring effects including shading or glowing.
The product must be a single SVG file with a group element `` at the top
level for each layer with an identifier attribute; any consistent attribute
The product must include an accompanying document that catalogs
- the features, (for example, “legs”)
- the expression of each feature ranked from ordinary to awesome, with most
expressions being ordinary. (for example, “chicken legs”, “rabbit legs”)
- the layers for each expression, (for example “chicken legs that must be layered above the body” vs “chicken legs that must be layered below the body”)
- the SVG group attribute that denotes the layer name, (for example “id”, “class”, or “inkscape:layer”)
- the color parameters,
- the bland shades (at least three),
- the vivid shades (at least three),
- the names of the color parameters (at least two),
- the SVG attribute that denotes a shape that needs either a fill or stroke for
each of the color parameters.
We are interested in maximizing the number of possible combinations of
features and giving the artist maximum latitude to fulfill that requirement.
To that end, we would like at least 65,536 combinations of features to be
That can, for example be achieved with 4 features and 16 possible expressions
of each feature, so a total of 64 features and however many layers are
necessary to represent them.
We would not be offended by significantly more combinations.
To a limited extent and with express agreement with the reviewer, some
expressions of one feature may be dependent upon another, either to suppress or
For example, a fish head might not be able to express horns.
For another example, a giraffe neck might require horns to be rendered from
