What is DAI and why you would probably need it on Gitcoin?

  • Simply put and without any technical details, DAI is a Decentralized stablecoin, a cryptocurrency built on the Ethereum Blockchain and which has the quality of being "stable" , meaning that 1 Dai will always be equal to 1 US dollar (more or less).
  • Most of the grants on Gitcoin accept contributions in Dai, and you may find yourself in need of "converting" your ETH into DAI in order to contribute to your favorite grant.

In the following section, we will be using Oasis, a platform for decentralized finance where you can trade multiple cryptocurrencies that are built on the Ethereum Blockchain.
