June 19, 2023 - Gitcoin, an industry leader in funding and supporting public goods, announces a comprehensive strategy to promote community-led positive change with an exciting series of events and initiatives in the upcoming months.
The journey begins with the 6th edition of Funding the Commons, taking place on July 15-16 at Sorbonne Université in Paris. Gitcoin will be presenting and running workshops while cultivating connections and partnerships with attendees.
A virtual hackathon follows in August-September, allowing developers to collaborate and solve challenges proposed by sponsoring protocols. Developers will be encouraged to build on Allo Protocol.
In September, select hackathon projects will be invited to participate in an additional round of funding that will be run on Gitcoin’s Grants Stack with the support of a panel from Protocol Labs and other sponsoring organizations.
As part of both the hackathon and the residency, Gitcoin has committed $100k from their matching pool to fund the development of digital public goods projects.
Alongside the funding rounds, Gitcoin is set to co-launch a groundbreaking Berlin Residency in September 2023. The residency will gather a diverse group of individuals who are passionate about public goods funding, sparking collaboration and creativity that can drive the mission forward.
Finally, Gitcoin will make its mark in the 7th edition of Funding the Commons on September 8-9 in Berlin, continuing to solidify its expertise and commitment to the cause.
Gitcoin is leading the way in these initiatives, with the goal of achieving key milestones such as the creation of new public goods funding infrastructure projects, integrations with Allo Protocol, substantial funding through Grants Stack, and engaging developers in these groundbreaking events.
Gitcoin is on a mission to create technologies and opportunities that enable communities to build, fund, and protect what matters. With a focus on empowering individuals, creating measurable impact, fostering mutuality, building trust, and encouraging forward-thinking, Gitcoin is shaping a world that thrives on positive change and shared progress.
