EDIT 2019/02/23: Results announced here.

Gitcoin is excited to announce our first formal experiment with CLR, with $25,000 in matching contributions from Gitcoin’s CLR Fund. Our sponsors for this fund include the Ethereum Foundation and ConsenSys, via their respective grants programs, and unnamed donors in the Ethereum ecosystem.

As outlined in our recent post, the CLR mechanism is a concrete proposal for turning your small donations into something much larger. It requires a simple formula to achieve this goal.

  1. Crowdfundindividual donations towards open source projects.
  2. A match from governments, grant programs, or private philanthropists

We are providing the $25,000 match. We need you to tell us where to put the money!

The Radical Contributor Kudos

For any contributions made to Gitcoin Grants from 2/1/19 to 2/15/19,Gitcoin will ensure a matching contribution via the $25,000 in funding we have allocated for this round.

At ETH Denver on 2/15 (and online), we’ll announce the projects which receive the most funding from this matching exercise.

Anyone who contributes will receive a special Kudos, “Radical Contributor,”which will signify their contribution to the matching experiment.

This Kudos is limited to those who make a contribution to a grant.

Contributing To Gitcoin Grants

To see some of the Gitcoin Grants you can contribute towards, check out the Grants Explorer. Some of the projects which you can contribute towards include the following.

  • Zero Knowledge Podcast:Zero Knowledge is a podcast which goes deep into the tech that will power the emerging Web3 and the community that is building it. The podcast is made for fellow developers and people looking to educate themselves on the inner workings of the space
  • Connext:Connext is free, open source, p2p micropayment infrastructure, built using payment channels on the Ethereum blockchain. Payment channels are a Layer 2 scaling technology that enable offchain payments between two parties, using the chain itself as a transaction settlement layer. This paradigm offers a solution for UX issues caused by latency and/or cost.
  • ZoKrates: ZoKrates is a toolbox to enable developers to use zkSNARKs and verify them on a blockchain. Zero-knowledge proofs (ZKP) are an exciting mechanism to enhance both privacy and scalability of today’s blockchain networks. First, they enable to prove statements on data without revealing it, enhacing user privacy

To check out these projects (and more), check out the Gitcoin Grants page. Make a contribution before February 15th and see what the matching function is towards these great projects!
