Vote With Your Wallet

How can we go from ideas to action? How might we translate our beliefs into votes and our individual votes into collective movements?

Moving from theory to action is a constant struggle at every level, from the autonomous individual to the global collective. We believe that one of the most promising aspects of web3 is its potential to unlock new ways of communicating our values with our money.

Monetary Energy

Money can be an incredible resource. It’s a living, breathing embodiment of trading your life-force energy (time, energy, and attention).

To enact real change in the world, allocating resources to where they will make the most significant impact is a part of the solution. This monetary energy can be a force of change if harnessed in the most effective way possible.

Sharing and promoting good ideas is nice. Voting on governance decisions is important. But putting your “money where your mouth is” is where the rubber really hits the road when generating significant change in the world.

If builders, designers, and dreamers are to be truly empowered, they need to be provided with tangible resources and the tools to do the work. Therefore, changing perspectives on how we see our wallets is the stepping-off point of creating evolution.

Optimal Funding of Public Goods

Voting with your wallet through Gitcoin Grants is a fierce way of monetary energy being sent to public, world-changing, and paradigm-shifting projects.

Grants rounds are the best mechanism we have found to support people and organizations building the open internet and other impactful causes.

Gitcoin exists to fund public goods (omni-win innovations made available to everyone). By pioneering and incorporating Quadratic Funding (QF), donors can directly contribute to and fund public goods in the most effective way possible.

This is how the collective enables profound change.

This is how you can vote directly for the world that you want to see in the future.

We now have the power and potential to facilitate massive coordinated cultural and technological shifts. Each of us has a critical role to play in this process. This is a crucial juncture where ideation shifts into action.
